Are you looking for America’s answer to Led Zeppelin? Are you looking for a band that has meaning in their lyrics? Well, they have been found in Calabasas, CA, and the band is Audiovent. I know I’m going out on a limb when I say this, but Audiovent is America’s answer to Led Zeppelin -- only 30 years later.

Dirty Sexy Knights in Paris is Audiovent’s first major label release, and it is full of meaningful lyrics and straight-up rocking melodies and harmonies. The energized CD has everything from hard rock to a song that includes intricate piano work and a 22-piece orchestra.

“The Energy” is the first radio release for Audiovent and the first track on the CD. It starts out nice and soft, then crescendos into the perfect opening song. Ben Einziger starts displaying his stellar guitar work that will carry on through the whole album.

“Sweet Frustration” slows down the up paced tempo of the album. This song could have easily been done acoustically, which would have been pretty cool, but it still rocks. The vocal harmonies between Jason Boyd and Ben Einziger are excellent on this song.

The last song, “When I Drown,” doesn’t sound like it should fit in with the rest of the album. However, it does nicely. Einziger puts down his axe on this song and takes to playing the piano. The piano and rolling snare drum are accompanied nicely by that 22-piece orchestra that was mentioned earlier. On top of the full sounding song, both Einziger and drummer Jamin Wilcox get to display their vocal talents by taking over for Boyd.

Along with these three songs, there are plenty more to get you out of your seat and rocking. The songs “Back and Forth,” “Stalker,” and “I Can’t Breathe” are just a few of those songs.

Overall, Dirty Sexy Knights in Paris is a phenomenal album for a first major release. I would suggest going to pick it up right now, before this band gets really big. I would also suggest seeing them in concert. They put on a highly energized show.
