This is an absolutely explosive piece of work by an outstanding young band of classical artists. The 5 Browns play five pianos with a synergy that is almost frightening.
Their 50 fingers wield the power and pack the sound of thousands. This is classical music rendered with intense energy and remarkable precision.
The disc opens with a heavenly rendition of Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue (Jazz Band Version),” followed by a gorgeously executed duet by Gregory and Ryan Brown of “Malagueña from Andalucia Suite.” Ravel’s “Feria from Rapsodie Espagnole” is another magnificent track featuring a duet by Desirae and Deondra Brown. Listening to this track is like being embraced by a cool, gentle waterfall on a hot summer day. “Variations on a Theme of Paganini” will have you closing your eyes and smiling with its rich multidimensional mix of sounds.
If you’re a fan of classical music, No Boundaries will definitely end up being a favorite in your collection. And if you don’t like classical, check it out anyway and I guarantee you’ll be swept off your feet in a heartbeat. These Browns are definitely going places.
