Puzzle lady Cora Felton steps into a mess when she agrees to make a money drop for one of attorney Becky Baldwin’s clients, who’s being blackmailed. During the errand, she discovers a corpse, then the money gets stolen, and she’s suddenly up to her eyeballs in trouble with local law enforcement.
While her niece, Sherry, is in the hospital after giving birth to a baby prematurely, Cora ends up chasing clues that lead to her ex-husband, Melvin, who may be in danger from a psychopath with a grudge. One thing is certain: the outcome won’t be a good one, no matter which way she goes with it.
Becky won’t tell Cora who the client is, but she has her suspicions, and the only way to catch the killer is to flush him out. Unfortunately, her plan is sure to put Sherry and her new baby in danger.
