When Mr. and Mrs. Smith’s (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie) home life starts to get dull
and boring, both of them throw themselves full-time into their jobs. But neither knows
of the other’s secret life as an assassin. Boredom quickly turns to intense passion and a
game of cat and mouse as they realise they’ve been hired by different organisations to
take each other out. Mr. and Mrs. Smith is a fantastic film with two of the
biggest and best actors bringing you what promises to be one of the best-selling action
comedies of the year.
If you enjoyed seeing Jolie kick butt in Tomb Raider,
you won’t be disappointed by her performance as the deadly Mrs. Smith. She’s a sexy
special effect in her own right. Pitt is just as good, surpassing his previous roles in
films like Fight
Club and Se7en, to name but a couple. The film’s opening and closing
scenes of the couple in marriage counseling are hilarious. The producers have clearly
taken time and thought about this film.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith is a
fantastic comedy as well as an action film. It’s been said this film is When Harry Met
Sally with guns, and I’ve got to agree. This film works, and it’s such a huge hit
because the production team got the dialogue spot on. It’s witty and humourous, and the
actors (regardless of their personal affairs) made the on-screen chemistry sizzle. What
more do you want than to watch man and wife fight, scream, shoot, dance, and then kiss
and make up? It’s everything we want our own relationships to be—sexy, stylish, funny,
and intense. I recommend that you see this film at least twice.
