This is an amazing debut album by this talented young artist and an impressive list of guests.
At first I found the bass line too heavy, but it definitely grew on me. The lyrics here focus mostly on love and heartbreak. Milian’s vocals are clean and angelic and she keeps an energetic tempo throughout the disc. There are some great tracks here for dancing.
“Dip it Low,” featuring Fabolous, is a delightfully steamy number with a great beat. In “Whatever U Want,” Milian is joined by Joe Budden’s impeccable rap stylings. This track is also on fire. Things slow down a bit for a couple of tunes like “Someday One Day” and “I’m Sorry.” Then it picks right up again with “Get Loose” featuring some nice jazz undertones and a lovely flute woven throughout and “L.O.V.E.,” with more of Budden’s rap.
This disc sizzles. If you like R&B and really sweet vocals, It’s About Time definitely comes through.
