Players: 2-4
Playing Time: 30-45 minutes
Considering I never really played dominoes as a kid, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed Patch Products’ competitive domino game, Domination. It turned out to be fast-paced, challenging, and a lot of fun. It only took minutes to learn how to play, too.
Game play couldn’t be simpler. Players takes turns placing their dominoes on certain spots on the game board. The goal is to complete domino squares—while at the same time trying to prevent other players from doing the same. Completed squares are marked with a chip representing the player who placed the last domino to finish the square. At the end of the game, the player with the most chips (and the most completed squares) is the winner.
The best thing about Domination is that the game is a delicate balance of strategy and pure luck. In most of the rounds that I played, the winner wasn’t decided until the very last domino was placed—and it was always a very close game. I love games like this because I’m very competitive and grow bored easily if I start to win or lose a game by a big margin. This game kept me interested until the very end.
Domination is super-simple to learn and loads of fun to play. Try it out—you won’t be disappointed.
