In 1977, director and producer George Lucas took the world by storm with his space adventure of Jedi, space dogfights, and master scoring musical numbers. Star Wars follows the story of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), a farm boy from the planet Tatooine, and his dream to become much, much more.
Luke finds more than he bargained for when he helps his Uncle Owen purchase some droids to help him with the farm work. When R2D2, one of the droids disappears, Luke’s adventure begins. It takes him to an old Jedi knight, who will teach Luke the ways of the Force in order for him to become The Last of the Jedi.
I’d really like to say more about the plot to this movie, but I doubt I could limit it to anything under 3,000 words. Being a huge Star Wars fan myself, I’d have to be biased and say that you need to see this film. The classic films are always the best, and this is no disappointment to the crowd — young or old, Jedi or Sith. There’s still something in it that will have everyone moved in their seats
The specials effects in this film where out of this world at the time it was released, just a little under 25 years ago. True, we have better effects now, but just to watch this film makes you think Wow! I’d like to be about to critise this film, but I don’t think I can find anything to have a pock at it with.
So take to your VCRs, man your Star Fighters, and May The Force Be With You… Always!
