While most Hollywood tough guys are out there partying it up and getting caught driving home drunk with their high-priced hookers in tow (hold on…I think I’m mixing my Hollywood tough guys with my politicians again…), poor little Shia LaBeouf is still trying to prove that he’s a bad boy, too. Apparently, battling giant robots and serial killers and hanging aroud with Indiana Jones just doesn’t cut it.
Last year, you may recall, Shia was arrested in Chicago for refusing to leave a Walgreen’s drug store. He wasn’t throwing stuff or hitting people or holding up the joint or anything. He was just creeping people out by standing around all night. According to the police, the lad was “very courteous and polite” when they came to pick him up. I’m guessing he probably even called them “sir” and/or “ma’am.”
But it looks like the Hollywood bad-boy-to-be has been at it again. Last month, little Shia was once again written up. This time, for “unlawful smoking” — that is, smoking where he wasn’t supposed to. To make matters worse, the wild-and-crazy tough guy failed to show up in court yesterday, and there’s now a $1,000 bench warrant hanging over his head.
If I were little Shia’s parents, I might have to ground him before he gets arrested again — for something like mooning passing cars. He’s such a troublemaker, that Shia.
Finally, I’ll close this morning’s gossip fest by following up on this week’s baby news. Halle Berry’s baby girl finally has a name: Nahla Ariela Aubry. It’s no Apple, but it’ll do.
BABY NAME UPDATE: To offset the not-too-quirkiness of Halle Berry’s baby’s name, Soleil Moon Frye (that’s Punky Brewster to you) has swooped down to give us her newest daughter, Jagger Joseph Blue Goldberg (who joins sister Poet Sienna Rose Goldberg). What a relief!
Kristin Dreyer Kramer has been writing in some form or another (usually when she was supposed to be doing something else) since the ripe old age of ten—when she, her cousin, and their two Cabbage Patch Dolls formed the Poo Authors’ Club. After a short career in advertising, Kristin got sick of always saying nice things about stuff that didn’t deserve it—so now she spends her days criticizing things, and she’s much happier for it.
Since creating NightsAndWeekends.com in February of 2002, Kristin has spent her life surrounded by piles and piles of books and movies—so many that her office has become a kind of entertainment obstacle course.
As if her writing and editing responsibilities for N&W.com weren’t enough to keep her out of trouble, Kristin also hosts a number of weekly radio shows: Reel Discovery, Shelf Discovery, and On the Marquee. She’s also a proud member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association (CriticsChoice.com), the Central Ohio Film Critics Association (COFCA.org), the Online Film Critics Society (OFCS.org), and the Women Film Critics Circle (WFCC.Wordpress.com).
