Man’s best friend is on the
verge of a monumental breakthrough. Professor Brody (Jeff Goldblum) is getting closer
and closer to discovering a spray that will cure people’s dog allergies forever, and the
dogs are doing everything in their power to protect him and his work. The cats, however,
led by a fluffy white cat known as Mr. Tinkles, are willing to do anything in their power
to get to Brody and destroy his research.
When the Brodys’ dog is captured
by the cats, Mrs. Brody (Elizabeth Perkins) goes out to find a new pet. But instead of
one of the puppies that the dogs have trained to protect the Brodys, Mrs. Brody chooses
Lou, an untrained, overzealous puppy who’s eager to join in the fight against the cats
and become a real secret agent.
Cats & Dogs is a wonderfully
imaginative movie that’s just as fun for adults as it is for kids. It’s a little bit
like a James Bond movie—with some of The Matrix
thrown in for fun—all wrapped up in a fuzzy, family-friendly package. Whether you’re
having movie night with the kids—or you’re just in the mood for something a little
different, pick up Cats & Dogs. It’s cute, it’s funny, it’s full of silly
gadgets—and I promise that you’ll enjoy it every bit as much as the kids will.
Kristin Dreyer Kramer has been writing in some form or another (usually when she was supposed to be doing something else) since the ripe old age of ten—when she, her cousin, and their two Cabbage Patch Dolls formed the Poo Authors’ Club. After a short career in advertising, Kristin got sick of always saying nice things about stuff that didn’t deserve it—so now she spends her days criticizing things, and she’s much happier for it.
Since creating NightsAndWeekends.com in February of 2002, Kristin has spent her life surrounded by piles and piles of books and movies—so many that her office has become a kind of entertainment obstacle course.
As if her writing and editing responsibilities for N&W.com weren’t enough to keep her out of trouble, Kristin also hosts a number of weekly radio shows: Reel Discovery, Shelf Discovery, and On the Marquee. She’s also a proud member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association (CriticsChoice.com), the Central Ohio Film Critics Association (COFCA.org), the Online Film Critics Society (OFCS.org), and the Women Film Critics Circle (WFCC.Wordpress.com).
