Growing up in South Carolina with an iron-fisted father who was not afraid to wield his
belt against soft feminine flesh, Tory depended on her friendship with Hope Lavell, the
daughter of one of the town’s more prominent families. Tory’s life held no promise but
with Hope, she could escape into the childhood denied her by her life of misery and
abuse.
When Hope was mysteriously murdered, Tory’s life fell apart.
Leaving home at the first opportunity, she tries to build a better life for herself but
one thing was missing…she didn’t feel comfortable…she wanted to go back to her
hometown. Hoping she wasn’t making the biggest mistake of her life, she returns and
opens a specialty shop for home design and tries to keep the demons of the past from
destroying that which she worked so hard to obtain.
Love wants to unite
Tory with Cade Lavell, Hope’s older brother and heir, but her unsolved murder threatens
to keep them apart, neither suspecting that the murderer was still in their
midst.
Carolina Moon is the first book I’ve read by this author and
I am looking forward to reading them all. Ms. Roberts spins a page-turner that kept me
on the edge of my seat from cover to cover.
