This disc has a great beat,
a nice strong bass line, some excellent tracks for dancing and plenty of sexy lyrics, all
delicately laced with the sounds of weapons being cocked, gunfire and blood-curdling
screams.
You may recognize “Candy Shop,” a catchy, sexy number featuring
Olivia, “Disco Inferno,” an extremely danceable track, or the very steamy “Just a Lil
Bit.” Though these tracks got a lot of airtime before the album’s release early this
month, almost every tune here deserves a nod.
The disc opens with “In My
Hood,” a very gangsta tune with a great beat and rich with violence and foul language.
50 is joined by Eminem in “Gatman and Robbin,” another violent piece, with undertones of
the theme from Batman.
“My Toy Soldier,” featuring Tony Yayo, is
heavy on the percussion and has some excellent rap. “Build You Up,” featuring Jamie
Foxx, is sweet with some great vocals and gorgeous keys. In “So Amazing,” 50 is joined
by Olivia, once again. This piece is romantic, sexy and upbeat.
“Hate
it or Love It,” featuring Young Buck and Lloyd Banks, is the perfect track to wrap this
disc up. It’s a very danceable tune and the vocals are stunning.
This
is 50 at his best. If you like hip-hop, this one definitely deserves a place in your
collection.
