Dear Christine,
This may sound odd…but my three-year-old daughter has a recurring dream that I would love to have interpreted.
She dreams that her dad is a robot and that he’s chasing her. Then a fireman saves her.
I know this is very vague, but it’s what she tells me most mornings, and she wakes up crying from it.
It would be nice to hear what you think
Curious
Dear Curious,
This is a sophisticated dream that is strongly focused on emotion.
A robot symbolizes that which is mechanical and efficient, yet lacking the ability to express feeling. Her father may be very loving, but more focused on being a provider than a nurturer. It could be something as simple as him trying to get her to stop crying. Conversely, fire symbolizes strong emotion, be it passion or anger. The fireman who rescues her could represent someone (perhaps you?) who’s more comfortable allowing her to express her emotions.
I hope this helps and thanks so much for sharing.
Best,
Christine
