Okay, so today I’m going to give a shout-out to a site that’s not exactly entertainment-related. It is, however, pretty entertaining — and it’s one that I visit obsessively, pretty much every single day. And since they just happen to be having a Summer Blockbuster Sale this week, I figure that’s close enough.
The site is called Threadless. And not only do they sell some awesome T-shirts, but they also help to promote some up-and-coming artists.
You see, the T-shirts that Threadless sells aren’t just some T-shirts that they designed in some secret back room. They’re designed by the Threadless community — people like you and me (well, kinda like me — only with artistic talent). And when you join the Threadless community, not only can you submit your own shirt designs, but (if you’re lacking in artistic talent, like me) you can also go through the T-shirt designs that artists have submitted and rate / comment on them.
So whether you’re an artist, a fan of wacky art, or a wearer or crazy T-shirts, check out Threadless. And, as an added bonus, if you head over now (before the 8th), you’ll be able to buy your first shirts(s) for a super-cheap price. It just doesn’t get any better than that.
Kristin Dreyer Kramer has been writing in some form or another (usually when she was supposed to be doing something else) since the ripe old age of ten—when she, her cousin, and their two Cabbage Patch Dolls formed the Poo Authors’ Club. After a short career in advertising, Kristin got sick of always saying nice things about stuff that didn’t deserve it—so now she spends her days criticizing things, and she’s much happier for it.
Since creating NightsAndWeekends.com in February of 2002, Kristin has spent her life surrounded by piles and piles of books and movies—so many that her office has become a kind of entertainment obstacle course.
As if her writing and editing responsibilities for N&W.com weren’t enough to keep her out of trouble, Kristin also hosts a number of weekly radio shows: Reel Discovery, Shelf Discovery, and On the Marquee. She’s also a proud member of the Broadcast Film Critics Association (CriticsChoice.com), the Central Ohio Film Critics Association (COFCA.org), the Online Film Critics Society (OFCS.org), and the Women Film Critics Circle (WFCC.Wordpress.com).
Kristin lives in Columbus, Ohio, with her husband, Paul, and their daughter, Anna. She welcomes questions, comments, and fan mail at kdk@nightsandweekends.com.
