I’m not talking about those who are trying to destroy SAMCRO, but I’m tired of the struggle within. Clay has got to go, but right now he has the misguided support of the club. He’s also built outside alliances that Jax hasn’t been savvy enough to obtain.
The alternative? Clay has Jax killed, the ratings plummet and the show goes off the air. That’s why I’m not concerned about the previews where Alvarez is about to blow Jax’s brains out. Ain’t gonna happen.
But wasn’t the Clay vs. Jax prison brawl just luscious? That was TV combat at its best; and so far, I’ve replayed it 3 times. Problem is that the old, angry, arthritic Clay stood his own whereas Jax should have knocked him out cold.
And, remember when Jax was arranging that “test drive’ and remarked that his name was Clay? That’s got to play in somewhere, and land back on the real Clay.
OK, maybe internal fighting does make for some interesting fun.
Now June, our ATF lady is back. Can’t Clay see how she manipulates him every time? BTW did you notice that her face is still deformed from that “head vs. table” altercation from a previous prison trip? She needs to take “ Effective Interrogation 101” because her current techniques aren’t getting her anywhere.
So where does that leave us? Gemma, who has always supported Clay, will have to find a diplomatic solution if she wants her son to stay alive.
In any event, SAMCRO needs to get back to the business at hand—gun running and fighting the bad guys … and the good ones.
There’s so much up in the air, and I can’t wait for Tuesday night on FX to find out if the club ousts Jax and what the Alvarez thing is all about. Will it force Jax to tell Opie the truth?
